[Puff bars and adolescence: issues and intervention strategies]

The popularity of electronic cigarettes among young people in Switzerland has been increasing since the introduction of puffs to the market. According to recent epidemiological data, more than half of 14-25 year olds have tried these devices, potentially exposing themselves to nicotine and substances with little-known long-term effects. This phenomenon raises concerns regarding health risks and the developmental phase during which these consumptions occur. Primary care physicians have a crucial role to play in managing these consumptions through an integrated approach.

Electronic cigarettes (or e-cigarettes) and vape products have multisystemic adverse effects despite being advertised as a safer smoking alternative and cessation device. We present a 22-year-old Filipino male with sudden chest pain. He had no known comorbidities but had a two-year history of daily vape use.

Cost Comparison and Spending on Tobacco Products: Evidence from A Nationally Representative Sample of Adult E-Cigarette Users

Background: Over 20 states and local jurisdictions in the U.S. have imposed e-cigarette taxes. It is important to evaluate how adult vapers, including those who also smoke respond to e-cigarette taxation. The purpose of this study is to examine factors associated with adult vapers' cost perception of e-cigarettes relative to cigarettes and budget allocations between two products.

The Impact of New Regulations on Prevention and Control of E-Cigarettes on Adolescents in Middle Schools - A City in China, 2022-2023

What is already known about this topic?: To protect the health of young people from the harmful impacts of electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes), China has enacted various policies and regulations since 2018. As of October 1, 2022, the Electronic Cigarette Management Measures were put into action. They prohibited the sale of flavored e-cigarettes, permitting only those of plain tobacco flavor to be sold.
