Background: We tested whether snus marketing with modified risk tobacco product (MRTP) claims: (a) promotes accurate knowledge about snus's health effects in young adults and (b) encourages use intentions in only those who use combustible tobacco without attracting other young adult populations.
The current study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of orally administered rapid mini-tablets containing atomoxetine hydrochloride (ODMT) relative to the conventional capsule formulation of atomoxetine hydrochloride (ATO). To mask the bitter taste of ATO and render it more palatable for pediatric administration in individuals with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
Tobacco flavors are extensively utilized in traditional tobacco products, electronic nicotine, heated tobacco products, and snuff. Introduction: Nicotine degradation is a new strategy to block nicotine-induced pathology. The potential of human microbiota to degrade nicotine has not been explored.
Background: Nicotine pouches have emerged as a novel way to administer concentrated nicotine and come as a white powder in flavored, microfiber pouches placed between the cheek and gums to dissolve without requiring spitting. While marketed as a safe alternative to smoking, nicotine pouches have the potential for toxic exposure to users.
Importance: Population-level health outcomes associated with e-cigarettes depend in part on the association between e-cigarettes and combustible cigarette cessation. The US Food and Drug Administration has authority to regulate e-cigarette characteristics, including flavor and device type.
Endothelial dysfunction is a predictor for cardiovascular disease. Pre-clinical data suggest longstanding cardiovascular and cerebrovascular dysfunction occurs in offspring with perinatal electronic cigarette (Ecig) exposure. Further, direct use of Ecigs increases reactive oxygen species and impairs cerebrovascular function, but the combined effect of direct use in offspring with a history of perinatal exposure (i.e. double-hit condition) is not known.
