Background: Smoking cigarettes can have deleterious effects on hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) disease severity, but little is known about the relationship between vaping electronic nicotine delivery systems (ENDS) and HS severity.
The majority of the Arab countries have high records of daily tobacco smoking. Electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes) use has exponentially increased in the past decade in Arab countries. Consumers' willingness to quit smoking traditional cigarettes and their perception of e-cigarettes as a safer alternative to conventional cigarettes have increased the demand for these devices.
Background: Nicotine is a modifiable risk factor that is well demonstrated to cause deleterious effects on tendon healing and overall health. Individuals that have a dependence on nicotine may be at an elevated risk for numerous postoperative complications when compared to nondependent patients. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the complications postoperatively between nicotine- and non-nicotine-dependent Achilles tendon repairs.
Background: Over the last decade, the use of electronic nicotine delivery systems (ENDSs) has risen, whereas studies that describe how consumers use these products have been limited. Most studies related to ENDS use have involved study designs focused on use in a central location environment or attempted to measure use outcomes through subjective self-reported end points.
Introduction: Electronic cigarette (e-cigarette) use poses concerns among women of child-bearing age. We examined prevalence of breastfeeding among the U.S. women and characteristics associated with exclusive use of cigarettes, e-cigarettes, or both products.
Background: Oral nicotine pouches (ONPs) are novel products, gaining popularity and marketed as "tobacco-free" alternatives to cigarettes and smokeless tobacco (SLT), but their public health impact is unknown. This study qualitatively examined ONP appeal and perceptions among cigarette smokers and SLT users from Ohio Appalachia.
Concerns have recently increased that the integrity of some scientific research is questionable due to the inability to reproduce the claimed results of some experiments and thereby confirm that the original researcher's conclusions were justified.
