Reducing e-cigarette use among youth and young adults: evidence of the truth campaign's impact

Background: Mass media campaigns have been shown to be effective in reducing cigarette use. However, evidence is limited for whether campaigns can shift e-cigarette use among youth and young adults (YYA). To assess the impact of the truth anti-e-cigarette campaign, which focused on the effects of vaping on mental health, this study examines the relationship between campaign awareness and e-cigarette behaviour among YYA.

Oral and Systemic Health Implications of Electronic Cigarette Usage as Compared to Conventional Tobacco Cigarettes: A review of the literature

Purpose The health implications related to electronic cigarettes are not fully understood and has created a public health concern. Barriers to helping patients quit smoking: Lack of knowledge about cessation methods, E-cigarettes, and why nurse practitioners and physician assistants can help

Objectives: Health care settings are ideal for addressing patients' smoking and quitting, but barriers may limit providers' assistance with cessation, including lack of knowledge about newer devices being used by some smokers to quit (e.g., e-cigarettes). Cessation practices among nurse practitioners (NPs) and physician assistants (PAs) are also unknown.

Perceptions of a prescription model for accessing nicotine vaping products: an examination of submissions made by self-reported e-cigarette users to an Australian consultation

In response to rapid and substantial increases in rates of e-cigarette use among young people, Australia's Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) made changes to the regulations governing nicotine vaping products. As part of the regulatory change process, Australians were invited to comment on the proposed regulations, which featured the introduction of a prescription model for nicotine vaping products.
