This study investigates the application of an eNose (electrochemical sensory array) device as a rapid and cost-effective screening tool to detect increasingly prevalent counterfeit electronic cigarettes, and those to which potentially hazardous excipients such as vitamin E acetate (VEA) have been added, without the need to generate and test the aerosol such products are intended to emit.
Ischemic stroke is followed by an increased susceptibility to bacterial infections, which exacerbate histological stroke outcome, neurological deficits and memory impairment due to increased neuroinflammation and neurotransmitter dysfunction. Pharmacological activation of nicotinic acetylcholine receptors was suggested to mitigate brain inflammatory responses in ischemic stroke.
Background: The prevalence of smokeless tobacco, areca nut, and e-cigarette use among university students has raised concerns regarding their potential impact on oral health. Assessing students' knowledge, attitudes, and practices toward these substances is necessary. Understanding these factors can inform targeted interventions and policies promoting oral health among this population.

Introduction: Supervision measures in China have designated offline retail as the only legal channel for the sale and advertising of e-cigarettes. Specialty stores, exclusively selling vaping devices and e-liquids, are professionally designed to showcase company images and provide the best examples of e-cigarette marketing strategies. The goal was to analyze the retail marketing practice of e-cigarette specialty stores and provide a scientific reference for future e-cigarette point-of-sale regulation.
Background: Tobacco use significantly impacts health and economic sectors. In the Maldives, 4 out of 10 men smoke daily, despite anti-tobacco policies. The Maldives Global Youth Tobacco Survey (GYTS) shows fluctuating cigarette smoking prevalence among secondary school students: 6.9% (2004), 3.8% (2007), 4.3% (2011), and 4.7% (2019). No studies have investigated smoking prevalence and attitudes toward anti-smoking policies among higher-secondary students in Addu City. This study examines smoking habits, susceptibility, and attitudes toward anti-smoking regulations to support policy development.
Objective: U.S. nicotine pouch (NP) sales have grown since 2016. Among U.S. adults who currently and formerly used commercial tobacco, we examined demographic associations with learning about NPs through varying marketing channels, and their associations with NP experimentation overall and stratified by race/ethnicity.
Background: While smoking cessation has been linked to substantial weight gain, the potential influence of e-cigarettes on weight changes among individuals who use these devices to quit smoking is not fully understood.
